Maison de Cognac Larsen in the spotlight at Musée des Arts du Cognac
From July 10 to December 23, 2020, the Musée des Arts du Cognac (MACO) is hosting an exhibition entitled “Design meetings by Larsen”. An exhibition devoted to the design and packaging developed by Maison Larsen through iconic objects, posters, old and current decanters.
A Viking Ship as an emblem
For each Cognac House, design is at the heart of the universe of its brand.
Going beyond the simple notion of packaging intended to protect and transport, design makes it possible to enhance and identify the DNA of a House.
The universe and the identity of a brand maintain a dialogue with the past, the present and the future, aiming for timelessness through strong symbols.
Designed in 1952 in tribute to the Norwegian origins of the Founder, this legendary carafe appeals to cognac lovers, who find themselves in the conquering and adventurous spirit of the Vikings. The “Viking Cognac” offers and conveys a state of mind: that of the former Nordic conquerors – merchants, tireless travelers – who plied the seas of the globe aboard Viking ships, powerful Norwegian warships and merchant ships. Created in glass and then available in porcelain at the end of the 1960s, the “invincible” Viking ship became the Larsen House’s emblem.

An exhibition of this iconic object in Cognac until December 2020
The public is invited to discover how Maison Larsen took over design to assert its personality, differentiate itself and make an impression over time. It will also be the opportunity of a nice artisanal journey into the world of Limoges porcelain.
