Established as a grocery business in 1895 by James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail used their ‘centrical and commodious premises’ to showcase local produce and curate exotic commodities from around the world.
From an eponymously named South Street retail shop, we have expanded into a multi-faceted international business: retailer, specialist UK wholesaler, international trade partner, distiller, and of course, single malt maturation experts.
For over 125 years and four generations of family ownership, Gordon & MacPhail has matched spirit from over 100 Scottish distilleries to its own bespoke casks.
